A 1985 Computer Science grad from Bradley University, Brian started developing barcode software for a Caterpillar supplier in 1987. Brian joined Cat in 1988 as a support engineer. He worked in several divisions of the company, including Electronic Tools, Self-guided Vehicles, Service Information Systems, Logistics, and Manufacturing Research.<\/p>\n

Toward the end of his 25 year career, he took ownership of Caterpillar’s barcode manufacturing specification and participated in several projects to improve auto-identification technology use at Cat.<\/p>\n

Since his retirement, he has been active on Stack Overflow, providing help to developers around the world with barcode-related problems and has created several barcode related utilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
